A two-week family trip paced for children: Cairo and Luxor, five nights on a small dahabiya from Esna to Aswan with swim stops, and a Red Sea finish in Sharm El Sheikh.
Three days in Cairo split the Pyramids and Saqqara from the Grand Egyptian Museum and Khan el-Khalili. Fly to Luxor for two easy days of temples, then board a dahabiya at Esna for El Kab, Edfu, Gebel el-Silsila and Kom Ombo, with a sail-and-swim day on the way.
After a night at the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract in Aswan, fly to Sharm El Sheikh for two nights by the sea. Domestic flights and a private guide who adapts the pace to your family are included.

Sail to El Kab and its rock tombs, then on to Edfu for the Temple of Horus. Evening moored at a quiet island. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.
A slow day on the river with time on deck and a swim stop. Overnight on board. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.
Visit the ancient sandstone quarries of Gebel el-Silsila, then lunch and a swim at a quiet riverbank. Overnight on board.
Sail to Kom Ombo for the temple of Sobek and Horus and its crocodile museum. Overnight on board.
Check out of the boat in Aswan. Visit Philae Temple, the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk. Overnight at the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract or similar.
Fly to Sharm El Sheikh and settle into your resort. The rest of the day is free.
A day at leisure by the Red Sea, with optional snorkeling, diving or a boat trip.
Fly from Sharm El Sheikh to Cairo to connect with your international flight home.
