Cairo - Siwa - Cairo
Eight days from 30 July to 6 August 2027: Cairo and the Pyramids, then three nights in Siwa Oasis to watch the total solar eclipse of 2 August from the Western Desert.
Two days in Cairo cover the Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum before a road journey across the Western Desert to Siwa. Eclipse day includes a dedicated viewing point, followed by the Oracle Temple, the Mountain of the Dead and Cleopatra's Spring.
After a slower day at the salt lakes, return to Cairo for the Museum of Civilization, Coptic Cairo and Khan el-Khalili. An Egyptologist guide and air-conditioned transport are included throughout.
Our representative meets you at Cairo airport and takes you to your hotel. In the evening, watch the Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids, followed by dinner.
Visit the three Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx with your Egyptologist, then the Grand Egyptian Museum and the treasures of Tutankhamun. Overnight in Cairo.
Drive across the Western Desert to Siwa in an air-conditioned vehicle and check in to your hotel, ready for eclipse day.
Watch the total solar eclipse from a dedicated desert viewing point. Afterwards visit the Temple of the Oracle, the rock tombs of the Mountain of the Dead and Cleopatra's Spring, ending at the old mud-brick Shali fortress.
An easier day around the oasis: the salt lakes, palm groves and dunes of Siwa. Final night in Siwa.
Drive back across the Western Desert to Cairo and check in to your hotel.
Visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the Hanging Church in Coptic Cairo, Khan el-Khalili bazaar and historic Al-Muizz Street.
Transfer to Cairo airport for your flight home.
